New Overwatch Hero Moira Announced At BlizzCon 2017

Overwatch

If you didn't get a chance to see BlizzCon 2017's opening ceremony live - or you just want to revisit the gorgeous opening cinematic for the new World of Warcraftexpansion, Battle for Azeroth, or the animated short for Overwatch's Reinhardt, "Honor and Glory", we've got you covered.

Moira, the shooter's latest addition, is a support hero that can heal teammates and teleport around the map. She can send out bouncing "Biotic Orbs" with her choice of a localized healing or destructive effect.

Creative director Jeff Kaplan described the character something of a hybrid character, which is something a bit unusual for Overwatch, but was looking forward to seeing the character in the hands of players-even jokingly describing the characters as "OP AF".

What's Next? panel at BlizzCon, Blizzard revealed Moira's origins.

She also sports a new teleporting ability named "Fade", which removes her briefly from the map, before appearing in a new location.

Biotic Grasp - Using her left hand, Moira expends biotic energy to heal allies in front of her. "Once she's charged Coalescence, Moira can save multiple allies from elimination at once or finish off weakened enemies". Many high-ranking Overwatch officials disavowed all knowledge of her affiliation with them.

After Overwatch's disbanding, Moira would move her operations to Oasis so that she could continue to fund her research and workings.

Her ultimate looks like a combined super-beam that heals all allies caught in it, or drains all enemies. It looks like the small Talon team we once knew when "Overwatch" was first released is no more.
