US Law Enforcement Hunting Second Person of Interest in NYC Truck Attack

Uzbekistan Offers Aid, Sympathy In Terror Attack Probe

According to the New York Daily News, authorities were looking for Mukhammadzoir Kadirov.

Kadirov is a 32-year-old man with black hair and brown eyes.

The news comes not long after it circulated a wanted poster identifying the individual, but the Federal Bureau of Investigation would not specify why it is no longer looking for information about him.

On Thursday, Kadirov released a statement to The Associated Press through a source in touch with his family.

Sayfullo Saipov is accused of driving a rented Home Depot truck down a bike path in the Tribecca neighborhood of Manhattan, New York.

Saipov allegedly left a note in the truck that translated to "ISIS endures forever", though authorities and Gov. Andrew Cuomo have called him a "lone actor".

As previously reported, Saipov (seen below) is the suspect behind the terror attack in New York City.

The person in touch with Kadirov's family says the two men knew each other only from their days as fellow drivers for the ride-sharing app Uber and were not close friends. Saipov was shot in the abdomen by a police officer and treated for his injuries.

Federal prosecutors filed terrorism charges Wednesday against Saipov.

They said he chose Halloween for the attack because he believed there would be more people on the street.

A second man sought for questioning in regards to the NY terror attack has been found.
