Chelsea vs Watford: Marco Silva fumes at 'unfair result' after controlling game

Watford mustn't let guard down against Chelsea Silva

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte's relief was clear as he passionately celebrated Azpilicueta's goal with fans. "It showed our way and we need to continue in this way". "It wasn't our best game but we got an important win for our confidence after three games without winning".

"I'm proud of how we played, but of course I'm really frustrated". We deserved that goal.

Having lost their last two league games, while being held to a draw by Roma in the Champions League in mid-week, the reigning champions were firmly under the spotlight coming in to the match against the in-form Hornets.

Roma penned Chelsea in their own half for much of the thrilling 3-3 Champions League draw in midweek, and the same happened against Watford as Chelsea spent nearly 30 per cent of the match in their defensive third.

"After the first 25 minutes in the second half we played really good, we controlled the match".

"It depends if I want to see the positive aspect or the negative aspect", Conte said, smiling.

Chelsea was without a win since September after league losses to City and Crystal Palace. Batshuayi then added Chelsea's fourth in stoppage time. David Luiz attempted to head the ball out but it dropped down for Doucoure to fire home through a crowd of players.

But Richarlison's two key misses ultimately cost high-flying Watford as Chelsea clawed their way back.

The home side leveled in the 71st when Batshuayi headed Pedro's cross from the right into the far corner.

However, it was Cesar Azpilicueta who proved to be the hero for the home side when Willian's deflected cross was headed in via the shoulder of the Spaniard.

Cesc Fabregas should have doubled Chelsea's lead four minutes later when given too much space in the Watford box but Gomes stood tall to prevent the Spaniard's chip looping over him.
