Las Vegas continues to try and attract Amazon in hopes of being home to the online retailer's second United States headquarters.

Dale Gann with the City of Langford's Economic Development Committee took the bid to Amazon's headquarters himself on Thursday morning.

As expected, Suffolk Downs topped the city's proposed sites.

The company released certain requirements for the potential home of its headquarters that included cities must have a population of at least one million and have an global airport.

With a project that could see Amazon spending as much as $5 billion and hiring 50,000 workers, it has resulted in a mad rush of metro areas around the country submitting bids to the online retailing giant.

Many Canadian cities, including Montreal and Vancouver, have not revealed details of any incentives they may be offering, saying Amazon asked for bids to be confidential.

In Chula Vista, CA the city made a giant book to show Amazon what makes the city ready for them. The mayor said the city is backing the bid assembled by Gary and the Northwest Indiana Forum as well. "The proposal portrays the numerous elements and assets of Cleveland that make us unique and demonstrates our community's capacity to successfully attract Amazon's HQ2".

"This is a great opportunity for us as a region to continue to tell our story to a global player", said Heather Ennis, president and CEO of the Northwest Indiana Forum.

The release stated that "more than 20 organizations and over 90 individuals from throughout the community" worked on the bid. The company said the second headquarters could bring around 50,000 new jobs to the chosen location.

Tatikonda says Indy's universities and experience with supply-chain businesses makes it an excellent fit for Amazon, but he's doubtful IN will land the headquarters.

Amazon is expected to reveal a short list of 20 to 30 cities later this year and announce its choice in 2018.
