Playtex recalls children's plates, bowls due to choking hazard

Playtex recalling 3.6 million children's plates & bowls due to choking hazard

Playtex plates and bowls affected come in a variety of designs, including cars, giraffes, princesses and superheroes. They were sold separately and as sets from October 2009 to August 2017.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumers Product Safety Commission and Health Canada.

The recall affects approximately 3.6 million plates and bowls in the US, and another 1.9 million more in Canada. The plastic can peel off the plate, and that's reportedly causing a choking hazard because kids are putting the peeled-off bits of plastic in their mouths. The white polypropylene plates and bowls have a colored rim on top and a non-slip bottom.

Playtex Products is voluntarily recalling its plates and bowls, according to the company's website.

Playtex plates are being recalled in Canada and the United States.

Playtex announced they are recalling 3.6 million children's plates and bowls over a choking hazard.

If you're one of the unlucky ones who has one of these bowls or plates, you have a couple of options to obtain a refund.

Playtex may be reached toll-free at 888-220-2075 from 8 a.m.to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at www.playtexproducts.com and click on "Recall" for more information.
