Haryana minister withdraws Rs 51 lakh assistance to Dera

The cops were arrested in Panchkula where they were called to join the investigation, said Panchkula Deputy Commissioner of Police Manbir Singh.

A Jaipur court on Thursday ordered a fresh probe into the alleged involvement of incarnated self-styled godman Ram Rahim in the mysterious disappearance of a Jaipur-based woman from Dera Sacha Sauda two years ago. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sedition, has been registered against him by the Haryana Police.

His conviction led to violence in Panchkula and Sirsa in Haryana, leaving 38 people dead and 264 injured.

Fifty-year-old Ram Rahim Singh will appear before a CBI special court here through video-conferencing from the Rohtak jail. Several parts of Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan had witnessed large-scale violence following his conviction in the two rape cases on August 25.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Dilwar Insan, a close of Ram Rahim, was arrested in Sonepat by the local police headed by SSP Satender Kumar Gupta. Honeypreet and Aditya Insaan are still elusive.

In wake of recent events embroiling the Dera Sacha Sauda whose head has been convicted for rape, Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma on Friday said that the Rs 51 lakh grant announced by him for the sect has been withdrawn.

The police had also said that they needed to question Honeypreet on the basis of certain other disclosures by Surinder which made her role in the chain of events connected with the Dera a suspect.
