Ted Cruz Loves Porn, I Mean Homeboy Really Loves His Porn

It’s Just Past Midnight In America & Senator Ted Cruz Has Liked A Tweet About Porn

Naturally, everyone freaked out, and Cruz blamed this fiasco on a nameless staff member while ... everyone continued to freak out. The clip liked by Cruz's account is from a longer video produced by the porn website Reality Kings.

Dan Pfeiffer, a CNN contributor and former senior advisor to President Barack Obama, quipped, "Why was Twitter invented?"

Ted Cruz's verified Twitter account is generally a predictable and staid affair.

"Liking" - which only people with access to a Twitter account are able to do - causes it to appear on one's feed. Nevertheless, Ted Cruz quickly became a trending topic and the butt of a raging internet joke machine. That changed late Monday night.

Cruz has been vocal about his opposition to porn and autonomous sex: in 2004, then-solicitor general Cruz's legal team tried to ban sex toys from the state of Texas.

Asked if he was the person who liked the tweet, Cruz said, "It was a staffing issue".

Note, however, that this explanation doesn't account for how Cruz's account came to be looking at the pr0n in the first place.

"The pornographic post in question had initially been shared by an account using the handle @SexuallPosts, and screen shots of the post from Cruz's page show a graphic sexual video".

"We're dealing w/ it internally, but it was a mistake, it was not malicious conduct".

"People can see your likes my dude", one Twitter user wrote. As a 26-year-old law clerk at the U.S. Supreme Court, he watched some porn with the justices as they decided on a case involving whether porn should be regulated.

And for a brief, shining moment, in the wake of a day spent reflecting on our other national tragedy, Ted Cruz gave America a respite from the onslaught of awful news.
