Hospital Officials: Active Shooter at Dartmouth-Hitchcock

Police from Lebanon, New Hampshire, as well as state troopers were on site, the spokesman said.

The incident occurred at 1.27pm when an "active shooter" call was placed to authorities, according to local reports.

WCAX-TV reports an employee said all workers received an email from the hospital about a "code siler", telling them to get out if possible and otherwise to shelter in place.

According to a tweet from hospital officials at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, police are now on site. Traffic in the area has been stopped on routes leading to the Hospital, Associated Press reported.

A suspect is in custody after federal, state and local law enforcement officials responded to reports of an active shooter at New Hampshire's largest hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Dartmouth College, located about two miles away from the hospital, tweeted that its campus was not on lockdown.
