Kardashian family pledges $500000 to Harvey relief efforts

'I'm going to start a real challenge': Kevin Hart challenges his famous friends including Beyonce and Justin Timberlake to donate money for victims of Hurricane Harvey

"My daughters & I are donating $500k to Houston disaster relief to help those affected by #HurricaneHarvey #RedCross #SalvationArmy", Kris continued. Kevin Hart had previously taken to his Instagram account to ask his celebrity friends for help for his Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge, whilst also donating $50,000 of his own money.

The family seems to have been inspired by actor Kevin Hart, who called on celebrities to contribute to his relief fund.

Hart posted a video saying that even though there have been other challenges in the past, "some meaningful" and some not, he wanted to start a "real challenge" now to save lives. She told the Houston Chronicle in a statement on Monday that she was lending a hand, but didn't specify a dollar amount. So, the contribution from each member certainly won't hurt either of them financially, but it will help out a lot of the victims of this bad storm.

The tropical storm Hurricane Harvey has brought a lot of devastation to the city of Houston.

At least nine people, including six members of the same family, are feared dead in the storm and 30,000 people are expected to be needing shelter, authorities said.

Kim Kardashian West, Khloe Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner echoed their mother's sentiments online by sharing their generous donation and telling their fans how they, too, can help. I think we've participated in a lot of challenges on the internet. "I went through it, my family went through it with Hurricane Andrew which was a category 5 hurricane.it was devastating but we survived and it got stronger and so will you". "Help me help Houston", he wrote. DJ Khaled also matched Hart's donation. "We will be donating $500 thousand to @redcross and @salvationarmyus today #HoustonStrong", she tweeted.

The Rock announced that he donated $25,000 to the Red Cross and then went on to send a message to Houston.
