Alexis Sanchez leaves Chile training camp to hold Man City talks

Early Liverpool team news Klopp axes mainstay from squad for clash v Arsenal – report

Manchester City will put in an improved cash offer for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez over the next 48 hours, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

It is believed that Sterling would be willing to move back to London should the opportunity arise for him to sign for the FA Cup champions.

Raheem Sterling has started the 2017/18 season well, scoring twice already, and racked up a grand total of 10 goals and 21 assists in all competitions last season.

With City desperate to land Sanchez, Pep Guardiola will allow Raheem Sterling to be included in a part-exchange deal for the 28-year-old former Barcelona man.

Amid Arsenal's struggles on the pitch, Sanchez's transfer saga may be wearing thin with his teammates, as The Telegraph reported on Tuesday night that "the majority of the first-team squad have now had enough".

Guardiola is understood to want the Chilean as a straight purchase.

But hours after the news broke, it emerged that Arsenal have asked their Premier League rivals for Sergio Aguero to be part of the deal.

What with it being global week and all, we suggest you can take it all with a pinch of salt - but still, we can't help but feel that Raheem Sterling isn't exactly the kind of steel-nerved battleaxe that Arsenal need right now.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have denied reports that Sanchez handed in a transfer request on Monday, less than 24 hours after he played what may have been his last Gunners game in the 4-0 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield.

Sterling was the hero for City at the weekend, scoring a 97th minute victor against Bournemouth, before controversially being sent off by referee Mike Dean for running into the crowd to celebrate his last gasp goal. Especially as Wenger risks losing him for free next year. They had been expected to bid this week and have now finally gone for it but it is unlikely Arsenal will sanction the sale.
