Nintendo Switch's online app is available for your phone now

SplatNet 2 displays information like stage schedules, gear and stats, and even lets you view your lifetime inkage, a feature that shows how much turf a player has inked compared to real-world places.

Nintendo's Switch online service will cost €/$3.99 a month, €/$7.99 for a three-month period and €/$19.99 for a 12-month period when it goes live next year.

You can buy awesome glasses from the app, so there is that.

The full version of Nintendo's paid online service for the Switch, originally due later this year, was recently bumped to 2018.

Once that all ready to go, with the Nintendo account associated with their console, switch owners can log in. If so, you can make use of the dedicated SplatNet 2 service!

Still though, this is Nintendo we're talking about-a company known to surprise-so I was willing to give its new smartphone voice chat app the benefit of the doubt. GameStop is though the only retailer who also sells the Nintendo Switch online.

"Once players are connected, you can use voice chat openly with friends while in the online lobby and during online play (depending on the game)". Of course, you can easily invite your Nintendo Switch friends, too!

Retailers are receiving new Nintendo Switch inventory this week because of the Splatoon 2 release on Friday.

Game purchases never carry forward, nor do usernames and friend lists - each subsequent console's service feels like Nintendo started from scratch.

Nintendo's Switch Online app is now available for free on iOS and Android devices. Secondly, it serves as a voice chat client while playing Switch games (the console now doesn't have any on-board voice chat). Users need to download the app to make use of the Switch system's internet functionality. This fee will also allow you to access some classic Nintendo games. Playing games is one thing, but being able to chat with your teammates adds a lot to the experience.

I have to have the app open the whole time?
