Stephen Colbert announces a week of 'Late Show' episodes from Russia

Colbert - who has seen a ratings resurgence after re-tooling his show to become the premiere anti-Donald Trump late-night program - has won the total viewer battle each week for five months straight.

"I don't know if you knew this, but I was in Russian Federation last week", he told the audience. "Followed me everywhere. Also got some attention from American intelligence", Colbert said.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will devote one week to Colbert's Russian Federation trip.

"Man, it is good to be back in the United States of America", he told the audience to rapturous applause.

- "Now to be clear, all I said in that little clip there was that I was considering a run". If I chose to run, obviously I'm not going to ask the Russians to help my campaign. "I would have my son-in-law ask them".

There's going to be a Russian Federation week on the Late Show in the near future where Colbert plays the segments he shot while traveling around.

Colbert mockingly agreed how "important" it was to keep comedians under surveillance.

Colbert went on to say Russian "goons" and "John Wick extras" followed him through his hotel. Colbert then made a quip at President Trump's expense saying, "Oh wait, somebody's already got that covered".

- "Like President Trump, I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of any other tapes of what I did in Russian Federation".

The "Late Show" host has returned to the States after several days in Russian Federation, where he shot a week's worth of material. "I did not personally make any such recordings - but I'm pretty sure my crew did", the host joked.
