Kerala woman cuts rapist god-man's private organs, CM applauds her bravery

Gangeshananda Theerthapadar, who belongs to the Thiruvananthapuram centre of the Kollam Panmana Ashram, was a regular visitor to the house of this girl since the past seven years.

He is admitted in the Government Medical College and Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram and his condition is stable after a surgery, sources in the hospital said.

The woman's mother, who was close to the godman, knew about his sexual advances to her daughter, police said, adding that they would charge her also. "Investigations are still on", a senior police official said.

"The man was admitted on Friday night with 90 per cent of his penis cut off".

The abuse started years ago, when the victim was a minor.

"Such an act by anyone, especially when it comes under the guise of a religious tag, is in no way acceptable", she said.

Soon after the incident was reported, an old photo of state BJP president Kummanam Rajasekharan with the accused surfaced on social media. "But this accused has no relationship with either the BJP or the NDA".
