Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ended with five post-credits scenes with one of them being Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) sowing the seeds for the creation of Adam Warlock. The sequel to the 2014 film opened internationally a week earlier.

The original film, which isn't based around Marvel heroes with household names like Iron Man and Captain America, surprised the industry by bringing $773 million worldwide. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is such a juggernaut that no other studio dared to premiere any movies on the same weekend. It made roughly $124 million in its second weekend internationally, after opening major markets like China, Russia, and Korea. This seems to suggest the third movie in the series will likely arrive in 2020. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 also has a 4.65 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Rating, giving it the highest ComicBook.com user rating among all comic book movies.

In two weeks of global release, the film has also made $269 million (£207.1 million) overseas. While this concludes our Vol. 2 video interviews, check back all this week for an exclusive peek inside the Marvel Studios process with Kevin Feige himself.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at US and Canadian theaters, according to comScore.

Vol.2 also performed well throughout the weekend, without a sharp drop-off. According to comScore/Screen Engine's PostTrak, 19 percent of audience said they would see it again in a theater and 23 percent of audiences said they would buy the film when it's released on Blu-ray. Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" finished fifth with an estimated 4.94 million USA dollars in its eighth weekend.
