Former Georgia, NFL pass rusher Quentin Moses dies in house fire

According to the City of Monroe Fire Department, Quentin Moses died Sunday morning in a house fire.

Andria Godard, 31, and her 10-year-old daughter, Jasmine, were also found dead inside the home.

Former Dolphins defensive end Quentin Moses sadly died in a house fire at the young age of 33 on February 12, according to ESPN.

Moses played football at the University Georgia, where he was an All-SEC defensive end in 2005, when the Georgia Bulldogs won an SEC championship.

When firefighters arrived on scene, the home was fully engulfed. In 2005 at Georgia, Moses recorded 11.5 sacks and 44 total tackles.

Georgia's Athletic Director Greg McGarity said in a statement on the university's website: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Quentin's family". He went to high school at Cedar Shoals, and was recognized several times by the Georgia Sports Writers Association.

"Reinhardt University is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of our coach and friend, Quentin Moses", said Reinhardt President Kina S. Mallard. "On behalf UGA Athletics, we extend our most honest condolences to his family". "Rest in Peace Coach Moses". Moses spent most of his National Football League career with the Miami Dolphins, which was from 2007-10.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, the agency added.

Moses also was named to the American Football Coaches Association's Good Works Team as a senior in 2006.
