Luis Suarez furious after first ever red card for Barcelona

Barcelona hope to reverse Luis Suarez's suspension from the Copa del Rey final after launching an appeal against his second booking in Tuesday's victory over Atletico Madrid.

Kevin Gameiro came on for Fernando Torres and missed from the penalty spot with 10 minutes remaining before making amends three minutes later thanks to excellent work from Antoine Griezmann, who had a perfectly good goal disallowed after a poor offside call earlier in the second half.

The Uruguayan scored two of Barca's three goals in the semi-final, firing them to a 2-1 win in the first leg with a tremendous solo run as well as hitting the opener in Tuesday's 1-1 draw.

Atletico hemmed Barcelona into its area but couldn't find an equalizer. The team played 35 great minutes.

On the other hand, Atletico boss Diego Simeone insisted his side needed to appreciate the magnitude of the task ahead of them as they look to overturn the first-leg deficit and reach their first final since they beat city rivals Real in 2013. "We are out, but our heads are high", Simeone said.

Suarez was forced off with a hamstring injury in the second half of last year's Cup final, a 2-0 defeat of Sevilla, but will play no part at all in the May showpiece against either Celta Vigo or Alaves.

Enrique told the club's official website: "We are a winning club and the fans are always up to the job".

However, Barcelona has qualified for final of Copa del Rey consecutively four times and so, Enrique has thought that they deserves to be the finalist and worthy enough to take the throne. So, the match finished with draw.

The club's all-time leading scorer appeared to have nowhere to go when he received the ball far outside the area and with a pack on defenders in his way.

Goalkeeper Miguel Moya did well to parry Messi's left-foot strike, only for the ball to fall right to the unmarked Suarez to finish off. Griezmann soon found him with a nice squared pass for an easy goal.

"We've made too many mistakes, we were pinned back and we didn't know how to get out".
