Obama returns to convention stage to make case for Clinton

Just two years ago, Obama's approval rating dropped to 40 percent before the midterm elections and candidates did not want to appear on the campaign trail with him.

Obama is likely to once again ask Americans to bet on change, this time in the form of a first woman president.

"There were some people here who were starting to go through their 12 steps toward accepting Hillary Clinton as our nominee", Brent Oleson, a Sanders delegate from Cedar Rapids Iowa, said in an interview.

Biden's comments came Tuesday during an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

Trump in turn said that US Vice-President Biden's statements didn't make any sens to him. "Basic knowledge about the world or what a nuclear triad is or where various countries are or the difference between Sunni and Shia in the Muslim world".

The Democrats' historic handoff to Hillary Clinton arrived with affection from one ex-president and an endorsement from an outgoing one. "He's always someone who puts his country ahead of himself, and that's what we need right now", Will Pierce, the founder of "Draft Biden", told NPR previous year.

This year, Clinton and Trump are running close, sparring in a race in which both sides have already engaged in name-calling. "To at least $10, but it has to go up".

But he said states should have control over minimum wage, saying the cost of living varies too much by state to make a universal minimum wage feasible.

Coming off his own convention last week in Cleveland, Trump has campaigned throughout the Democratic conclave in Philadelphia.

In his prime-time pitch at the Democratic National Convention, Obama plans to argue not only for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, but for the progressive policies that he's spent the last eight years enacting - an agenda that will depend largely on his successor to maintain. Some delegates at the Democratic convention anxious the debate could push the most strident Sanders supporters to stay at home in the November election, handing it to the Republican.

Lockley, who pulled the lever for Bernie Sanders in Pennsylvania's April primary, now backs Clinton in large part because she sees her as a custodian of Obama's legacy.

Inside, it was all about the Clintons. Some supporters of Clinton's primary rival, Bernie Sanders, continued to voice their displeasure with the pick, but there was nothing they could do to take the nomination away from Clinton.

"But if you're going to be president of the United States of America, you better know", he said. I shouldnt guess his motive.

She was lauded throughout the evening by passionate supporters whose lives she has influenced.

The convention is also poised to double down on Clinton's push to enact tough new gun control laws by featuring families of the victims of the recent Orlando nightclub shooting; the daughter of the principal of a CT elementary school who was shot dead in a 2012 shooting; and astronaut Mark Kelly and his wife, former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, the victim of a 2011 assassination attempt. "She had thick blond hair, big glasses, wore no makeup, and she had a sense of strength and self- possession that I found magnetic". Trump really admires Putin and the kind of strong man that he is.

The Clinton aide cited Kaine's service on the Senate Armed Services Committee and Foreign Relations Committee and said his speech would also touch on economic issues. "I thought she did a very good job". Bill Clinton also sought to paint his wife in a warm, personal light, countering the Republican portrayal of her as a power-hungry politician who bends the rules and lacks transparency in her political dealings.
