Psychic Miss Cleo Passes Away From Cancer

Miss Cleo, the iconic psychic late-night infomercial pitchwoman of the late 1990s and early 2000s, died Tuesday in South Florida.

"I have some family members who are very close to me, and they do know".

Her rep told TMZ that Miss Cleo was a "pillar of strength" during her battle.

Despite the thick Jamaican accent, she was actually born in Los Angeles.

With Miss Cleo's Afrocentric attire and Jamaican patois, her commercials for Psychic Readers Network hustling 1-900 telephone readings became camp entertainment to some. "We're going to call you a psychic.' I said, 'But I'm not a psychic!" After that, she had two long-term relationships with women, she said.

Her memorable Miss Cleo persona ran in television ads from 1997 to 2003.

In 2002, Harris' psychic character was named in a deceptive advertising settlement with the Federal Trade Commission involving her former company.

Harris reportedly passed away surrounded by loved ones at a hospice facility in Florida.

The L.A. native previously spoke about her work as a psychic in the documentaries Becoming Psychic (2010) and Hotline (2014). "I've got kids and grandchildren; I like being able to help".
