Joachim Low apologises for sniffing hands after putting them down pants

Joachim Low

The footballing world was served with some touchline entertainment during the 2014 World Cup finals, when Joachim Low's questionable antics was recorded on live television.

Midway through the match at Stade Pierre Mauroy, with his team impressing on the pitch, Low was caught on camera readjusting himself, before moving a hand around the back and subtly sniffing his fingers. "I'm sorry for it". But Low was still apologetic during another press conference.

"I saw the images the next day".

Low's players jumped to his defence after he was mocked on the internet, but the 56 year-old has said he will try to change his behaviour while in the dugout. Of course you do something unconscious now and then.

During Germany's 2-0 victory over Ukraine on Sunday, Low was pictured putting his hand down his pants before putting it towards his nose and mouth.

Germany can secure their place in the last-16 of Euro 2016 with a victory over Poland at the Stade de France in Paris on Thursday.
