Ronda Rousey knocked out by Holly Holm

Coach Edmond Tarverdyan breaks down Ronda Rousey's loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia.

Undefeated, having finished a few spectacular fights in both her Strikeforce and UFC career with her quickest defeat standing at just 14 seconds in the first round via her trademark armbar, fans reacted with shock when Holly Holm delivered an outstanding knock-out kick in the second round. She said to be the world's best you do not get beaten so badly during your prime. "Her lip is split, and they're going to have to sew her lip and put a few stitches in it".

White also told the press Rousey is "bummed out and depressed" after being defeated by Holly Holm. The latter was billed as the underdog in this fight, as previously reported on Parent Herald.

Rousey was the all-unstoppable force in the women's division until Sunday at Etihad Stadium.

The Washington Post reported that a rematch is inevitable and Holm is already expecting this.

UFC President Dana White also looked anything but fine when the movie star/bestselling author/product pitchwoman holding his promotion's belt lost on Sunday in Australia.

UFC 193 has turned around.

"But after she was hospitalized following her loss, plans to have Rousey star in the 'Road House" remake, due to start shooting in early 2016 may have been scaled back. That was her mistake. It was boring to have her there because I know how fake she is, and know the UFC can show that there are many other great bantamweights in the roster, not only Ronda.

While Holm later told news.com.au that the incident didn't bother her but rather fired her up, fight fans from around the world set about sending a message to Rousey; good sportsmanship always pays dividends - win, lose or draw. "She's got an MMA background and obviously was no chump".

Holm said afterwards that her next fight could well be a rematch with Rousey, although given the way the former boxer outclassed the ex-Olympic bronze medallist it would be a surprise to see the pair in the Octagon again anytime soon. "I'm definitely going to let a few people miss me, for sure".
